Évora & Vitória Stone Hotel

Com o meu 32º aniversário à porta e sob o pretexto de o celebrar, eu e a Patrícia, decidimos fazer as malas e seguir em direcção a Évora, para passar o fim-de-semana. O objectivo? Simples. Acima de tudo, ter uns dias de descanso, fugir ao stress e à rotina do dia-à-dia. Ah! E claro, celebrar o facto de estar um ano mais velho. É verdade, são 32 já!

Chegámos a Évora pouco depois da hora do almoço e fomos logo fazer o check-in ao Vitória Stone Hotel, um hotel bastante agradável e sofisticado, com pessoal muito simpático que nos fez logo sentir bem vindos. Falando sobre a cidade em si. Évora (que foi considerada património mundial pela UNESCO em 1986) é uma cidade bastante agradável e calma. Como a nossa estadia era curta, decidimos largar as malas e por logo os pés ao caminho para explorar a cidade. Évora, é uma cidade bastante fácil de visitar. Apartir do centro da cidade, onde encontramos bastante comércio local, conseguimos fácilmente chegar aos pontos principais a visitar, tais como o Templo Romano de Évora (Templo de Diana), Igreja de São Francisco e Capela dos Ossos. Logo ali ao lado, para quando os ossos vos começarem a doer, encontram o Jardim Público de Évora onde podem desfrutar de um agradável passeio e momento de descanso. Neste jardim, encontram também vários monumentos de interesse cultural, como os restos da Muralha Medieval (século XIV), o Palácio D. Manuel (século XVI) e as Ruínas Fingidas (século XIX).

Ahhhh! E quando forem a Évora, se andarem pela Rua 5 de Outubro (perto da Praça do Giraldo), parem para uma visita à Gente Da Minha Terra, uma loja de produtos artesanais portugueses, feitos à mão.

With my 32nd anniversary close and under the excuse to celebrate it Patrícia and I both decided to pack and drive in direction to Évora to spend the weekend there. The purpose? It's simple. Having a couple of days to relax and to escape the stress and the daily routine. Ah! And to celebrate the fact that I am one year older, of course. That's right, it's now 32!

We arrived in Évora a bit after the lunch so we decided to check-in at the Vitória Stone Hotel that we found very pleasant and sofisticated with a very nice staff that immediately made us feel welcome. Talking about the city itself. Évora (that is UNESCO's world heritage since 1986) is a very nice and calm city. Our stay was short so we decided leave our bags and move our feet out to explore the city. Évora is a very nice and easy city to visit walking. From the city center you can easily reach the main interesting points as the Roman Temple of Évora (Diana's Temple), the San Francisco Church and the Chapel of Bones. Right there beside you will find the Évora's Public Garden where you can enjoy a nice walk or have a moment to relax in case you have your bones in pain. In this very garden you can also find some monuments of cultural interest as the remains of the Medieval Wall (14th century), the D. Manuel Palace (16th century) and the Fake Ruins (19th century).

Ahhhh! And when you visit Évora and if you are walking at Rua 5 de Outubro (close to the Praça do Giraldo / Giraldo's Square) I recommend you to take some time and visit this store called Gente Da Minha Terra, that sells portuguese handmade products.
